McDonald’s has appointed Suheily Natal Davis as its new Chief Sustainability, Social Impact & Inclusion Officer.
The appointment marks an expansion of the company’s top sustainability role to incorporate inclusion, with Natal Davis succeeding Chief Sustainability & Social Impact Officer Beth Hart in the position. Hart has been appointed Vice President, Global Category Lead for Beef at the company.
Natal Davis takes on the new role after 12 years at McDonald’s, initially joining the company as Senior Counsel, Global Labor & Employment, and most recently serving as Vice President, Global Inclusion.
In a post announcing the appointment, Natal Davis said:
“I’m proud to be entrusted with bringing these three areas of work together under one team as we continue to drive progress and meaningful impact across our people, our planet, and the markets and communities we serve.”
McDonald’s announced a series of changes to its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs last year, including retiring the setting of aspirational representation goals, as well as its supply chain Mutual Commitment to DEI pledge, citing a shifting legal landscape in light of a Supreme Court ruling in 2023 that struck down Harvard’s use of race-based affirmative action criteria in college admissions, although the company reiterated at the time that its “commitment to inclusion is steadfast,” calling inclusion “one of our core values.”
