Sustainability-focused investment and philanthropy platform Builders Vision announced the appointment of Matt Knott as its new CEO, and of Lisa Forbes as Chief Strategy Officer.
Founded in 2018 by Walmart heir Lukas Walton, Chicago-based Builders Vision allocates capital through a combination of grants, direct investments and fund investments in public and private markets to scale sustainable solutions and accelerate market adoption. The firm’s investment focus areas include sustainable food and agriculture, healthy oceans, and clean energy. The firm has more than $20 billion in assets under management.
Knott joined Builders Vision in 2019 as President & Chief Operating Officer, helping to design and develop the organization since inception, and has served as interim CEO for the past year. He joined Builders Vision after serving as President of hunger relief organization Feeding America. Knott will succeed Walton, who had served as CEO since Builders Vision was founded, and now serves as Executive Chairman.
Forbes also joined Builders Vision and has been serving as General Counsel, as well as interim Chief Strategy Officer for the past several months. Prior to joining Builders Vision, she served as Senior Corporate Counsel as industrial software company Uptake and as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Sheffield Asset Management.
In a post announcing the appointment, Knott said:
“What excites me most is the opportunity ahead. Builders Vision now has more than $20 billion in assets under management, driven in part by the strong performance of our portfolios. We have a talented team, a powerful network of partners, and the unique ability to deploy investment and philanthropic capital to scale promising solutions in food and agriculture, energy, and oceans.”
