BCG Appoints Jan Philipp Bender as New Global Climate & Sustainability Practice Leader

Boston Consulting Group (BCG) announced the appointment of Jan Philipp Bender as its new Global Leader of its Climate & Sustainability Practice.

Bender has been with BCG since 2009, with an industry focus on mining, metals, and chemicals, working with a wide range of materials and process industry clients to address key issues related to strategy, with a particular focus on climate and sustainability, innovation, and commercial excellence. Most recently, he has led BCG’s global work in material and process industries, and the firm’s Climate & Sustainability practice in the Europe, Middle East, South America & Africa (EMESA) region.

In a post announcing the new appointment, Bender said:

BCG launched its Center for Climate & Sustainability in 2021, expanding its prior climate action-focused practice to cover a broad range of sustainability topics including biodiversity, circular economy, decarbonization, sustainable agriculture, transition financing, and water management, among others. Bender succeeds Hubertus Meinecke, who has served as Global Leader Climate and Sustainability at BCG since 2022.
