Barclays Appoints Paul Williams as Global Head of Operational Sustainability

UK-based banking group Barclays has appointed Paul Williams as its new Global Head of Operational Sustainability.

In his new role, Williams will be responsible for leading Barclays’ sustainable operations strategy, embedding sustainability across Procurement, Global Real Estate, Technology and wider business operations to help deliver on the bank’s strategic commitments, regulatory requirements and long-term sustainability objectives.

Williams joins Barclays from Deutsche Bank, where he has served since 2024 as Global Head of Sustainable Procurement. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, he served as Global Head of Environmental & Social Sustainability at international food and beverage group Princes Limited, and he also founded and chairs the Finance Initiative for Sustainable Procurement (FISP), a collaboration of financial services institutions accelerating sustainability performance across shared supply networks.
