Seedling Acquires Carbon Accounting Platform Go Climate Positive

Carbon management platform Seedling announced the acquisition of carbon accounting company Go Climate Positive, in a move aimed at strengthening its position as a solution provider for scaling and mid-market businesses requiring standards-aligned reporting and support on net zero progress.

The announcement marks the latest in a series of deals in the rapidly consolidating carbon accounting space, with transactions this year including the acquisition of Optera by Green Project Technologies, of Minimum by Novisto, of Normative by Greenly, and of Plan A by Diginex.

Founded in 2020 by Eoin McQuone and Stephanie Lee, UK-based Go Climate Positive provides solutions for small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) to measure, reduce and report their carbon footprint and take climate action. The company’s services include net zero planning, carbon reduction plans, supplier carbon reduction programs, and certification.

Bath, UK-based Seedling helps scaling and mid-market businesses measure, reduce, and report on their full-scope emissions through their software platform alongside support from dedicated carbon specialists.

The transaction closed on October 31, and the companies said that GCP’s clients will move across to the Seedling platform over the coming weeks, each supported by a named Seedling carbon specialist.
