Sweden-based climate and nature solutions provider Milkywire announced that it has completed a new round of carbon removal pre-purchase agreements on behalf of Salesforce with eight suppliers spanning multiple technologies, aimed at supporting early-stage carbon removal pathways with high long-term potential.
According to Salesforce, the new commitments form part of its pledge as a founding member of the First Movers Coalition (FMC) to contract for $100 million in CO2 removal solutions, in order to help scale Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) solutions through 2030.
The transactions follows Salesforce’s pre-purchase agreements of carbon removal from 19 early-stage suppliers announced in January 2026 through Milkywire.
Jamila Yamani, PhD, Director of Climate and Energy at Salesforce, said:
“We backed these eight suppliers because each contract will help a pilot or demonstration unit get built, and each project will generate learnings that will inform future deployments across the industry.”
According to Milkywire, the purchases, which cover more than 3,600 tonnes of carbon removal, were selected to support early-stage carbon removal pathways with high long-term potential, including first-of-a-kind projects, novel geographies and technical steps that are not yet served by mainstream buyers. The portfolio of pre-purchases encompass removal methodologies including ocean alkalinity enhancement, direct air capture and biomass storage.
The portfolio of purchases include direct air capture projects from Sirona Technologies, Yama, Brineworks and Deep Sky; ocean alkalinity enhancement projects from PRONOE and Alkamy Carbon; and biomass storage from Carba and Cowboy Clean Fuels.
