Technology-focused growth investment firm Revaia announced the appointment of Marc-Étienne Mercadier as Partner to co-lead the firm’s debut energy fund.
The new hire follows the appointment in late 2025 of Jean-Patrice Bellier as Partner to launch the new energy transition fund, with responsibility for assembling a team and deploying the fund’s investment strategy. Mercadier and Bellier will co-lead Revaia’s energy transition platform, focused on businesses driving decarbonization, resource efficiency, resilience and energy transition.
Alice Albizzati and Elina Berrebi, Founding Partners at Revaia, said:
“We are thrilled to welcome Marc-Étienne to Revaia. Alongside Jean-Patrice, his track record structuring and scaling energy transition investment vehicles, and his deep understanding of the European energy sector, gives our debut fund exactly the leadership it needs. Together, they will be central to seizing what we see as a landmark investment opportunity: scaling the businesses that will decarbonise Europe’s economy while strengthening its energy independence.”
Mercadier joins Revaia with 16 years of experience working in private equity, infrastructure and structured finance, most recently serving as Director and Head of Strategy at asset manager Eiffel Investment Group, where he built and led the “Eiffel Gaz Vert” fund from 2020, deploying more than €500 million in equity across renewable energy, decarbonization and energy-efficiency sectors in Europe.
Prior to Eiffel, he worked at Générale du Solaire, playing a key role in helping industrialize the Independent Power Producer model and structuring innovative financing solutions to support its rapid growth.
Mercadier said:
“Energy transition is one of the most significant investment opportunities of our generation. I am convinced that growth private equity is uniquely positioned to address a critical market need by providing high-impact companies with the capital required to scale, while supporting European and national decarbonisation targets and strengthening Europe’s industrial and energy sovereignty.”
