Sustainability ratings and solutions provider EcoVadis and private markets-focused ESG data solutions provider Novata announced today the launch of a new partnership aimed at enabling companies to measure and address supply chain carbon emissions data.
According to EcoVadis, the new partnership forms part of its efforts to build its Carbon Data Network (CDN), a data exchange launched by the company last year, designed to enable procurement teams to connect suppliers’ primary carbon emission data directly into their Scope 3 reports.
Dexter Galvin, SVP Climate at EcoVadis, said:
“By welcoming Novata to our rapidly expanding Carbon Data Network, we are making it easier than ever for corporations and financial institutions to shift from spend-based estimates to precise primary data. This integration empowers users with the trusted data engine needed to calculate reliable Scope 3 footprints and drive real, measurable decarbonization.”
Under the new partnership, the companies said that investment firms and corporate clients will be able to route EcoVadis’ primary supplier emissions data directly into Novata’s platform. EcoVadis will provide primary supplier data and carbon maturity analytics from supply chain footprints, while Novata’s carbon solution will use the data to enable customers to calculate more accurate Scope 3.1 emissions footprints, moving beyond sector averages, with granular insights by location and activity type, which the companies said will support data-driven decarbonization strategies and regulatory and investor reporting requirements.
Conor O’Laoire, Head of Global Partnerships at Novata, said:
“Partnering with EcoVadis allows us to securely ingest verified primary carbon metrics directly into Novata’s platform. This integration gives our clients the clarity they need to move beyond industry averages, gain precise visibility into their supply chains, and execute highly targeted sustainability strategies.”
